Woo, and Physics Paper 1 and 2 concludes the Prelims today.
I got to say this: Paper 2 was one of the lousiest papers in the whole prelims. Lol.
I barely reached the last question, which was supposed to be out of syllabus. Omg. Nearly 10 marks, which was out of syllabus. And I already left a lot of blanks in the previous few pages.
But when I was doing Paper 1, I realised something. Here and there, there were questions that my Physics tuition teacher has already gone through before. I wished I listened to him more -_-
But anyway, I still got quite a few of it. Cos he has already drilled some standard questions into our heads.
And so that concludes the very very very lousy Prelims.
I am going to be amazed if I pass Physics. Lol.
Can't aim very high now that I have seen Paper 1 and 2.
They were horrible.
Anw I watched 'The Invasion' today.
I saw a movie review on it in The Straits Times the other day.
Well, it wasn't as bad as the movie review said, but some parts of the review was quite true.
The ending was very abrupt, and the female lead, Nicole Kidman, could 'teleport' like the movie review said.
But other than that, the action is decent.
A 3 stars rating seem rather suitable for it.
There's room for improvement.
Oh and the best thing is, I have been having a fever for nearly 2 weeks.
Its a record.
Is it going to break my record of coughing for nearly a month?
Hais. Why do I set such stupid records?
The 100 day fever -.-I have seen my Chinese doctor already.
I hope the medicine helps.
It better, cos I don't want a new record.

Ok I guess I am blogging this pretty late.
Anyway I watched Ratatouille(Rat-ta-too-ee) last Saturday.
A very inspiring show, I must say.
Not so much of a touching scene; after all its a comedy, but I would advise people to catch it anyway.
Its a 5 star movie! There aren't many 5-star ratings nowadays.
Anyway. I figure I will blog less now, though I am already doing so.
Work hard for your exams people. All the best and let's see who gets the least 'U's. Lol.
Ok alright. Not 'U's perhaps. The least fail grades.Labels: movie/documentary

Alright. I watched 'High School Musical' recently. A bit late, considering it came out last year. Haha. I think its starring on TV this weekend, but I caught it slightly earlier =P
This movie is really nice. Not only are the songs nice, I like their dances too.
Don't miss this movie if you haven't caught it!
The last song came with a great dance.
We Are All In This Together:
Speaking about nice dances, here's a spectacular one by Samsung.
The synchronisation is amazing.

I just finished watching another documentary by Michael Moore. Sicko.
This one highlights the health care system in the USA compared to that of other nations.
I must admit, Moore does a twist on the way he presents what he wants to say, editing clips to emphasize his point and often to gain sympathy. Usually, he will drive his point home with a one-sided view which will give viewers a wrong impression.
But hey. Guess what? At least what he provided are some facts of the USA health care system which even critics can't deny. Its rather sad to see that the health care in
once such a great nation is presently in the hands of insurance companies.
Its a "DUH!" that insurance companies are just like any business, profit-seeking and trying to reduce the possibility of issuing payouts. Which business wish to make a loss? That's the problem in the USA. With the health care system in the hands of insurance companies, you can expect the health care coverage provided to go to shit. It is said that 45 million Americans are insured. But there doesn't seem to be any point in getting yourself insured if insurance companies are trying their best to deny Americans their reimbursement when they get sick or hospitalised. The health care costs in the USA are horribly high, and medication costs are enough to drive people to bankruptcy.
As part of the documentary, Moore showed that a medicine costing US$120 in the USA only cost US$0.05 in Cuba. While I can't confirm that this is true, noone has actually stepped out to refute that claim, so I will accept it as possibly the truth. If it is true, how can prices differ by so much? We are talking about a 2400 times difference in prices here. Does this not highlight the corruptcy in the American health care system? Does this not show that something is actually wrong with the system? In one of the story coverage, Moore interviewed a man who lost one-third of his ring finger and his middle finger in an accident. When he reached the hospital, the doctor told him that it would cost him $60,000 to reattach his middle finger and $12,000 to reattach his ring finger. He could not afford it, so he only could pay to have his ring finger reattached. Where's the ethics in this? Did people become doctors to make profits or to help people? Shouldn't doctors treat anyone regardless of their financial status? In another story, a woman who brought her daughter with a high fever to the nearest hospital was actually denied treatment and was eventually escorted out of the hospital. Reason? The hospital contacted her insurance company and the company said that the baby was not insured in that hospital. Thus, the hospital refused treatment. The baby died on the way to the 'correct' hospital. What the hell?
Can you, living in Singapore, imagine going to the accident and emergency department of a hospital feeling terrible, and refused treatment because they found out you might not be able to afford the treatment? In the USA, some hospitals are known to pack such people into cabs and send them off to somewhere else, half-treated and in bad condition. Not just some old dilapidated hospital. Yes, even reputable ones.
The whole issue circulates around how health issues in the USA have turned into a massive profit-making industry. In my opinion, it is extremely unethical to put profits in front of the welfare of the patients when it comes to health care. After all, every life is precious. Each and every person deserve equal treatment, and the rich certainly should not be given the red carpet.
Some parts of Moore's film deserve questioning though. He compared the health care system in the USA to that of the health care system in the United Kingdom. Moore claimed that the people in the UK do not have to pay a single cent for their health care and their waiting times in the hospitals are extremely short(1 hour in UK compared to 18 hours in the USA). It is true that the UK provide socialised health care to the people at no cost, as the costs are paid for by tax payers. However, UK citizens have income taxes ranging from 10% to 40%. Their 'GST' is as high as 17.5% and companies are taxed 30% of their earnings. That's where all the money is coming from. Moore didn't mention that though. The impression he gives is that the people in the UK seem to enjoy infinite benefit with no detriments. Of course there are. The money must come from somewhere. Another thing is that the 'waiting time' he highlighted is that of the time taken for people to see a doctor. That's actually a minor issue. The UK actually is reportedly to have longer and longer waiting times from the point where the person is examined by a doctor to the point where the person receives treatment. The current waiting times are as long as more than 20 weeks at the moment. That is, if you see a doctor in January, you might only get treated only in June. Of course, this only applies to 'major' illnesses, depending how you define 'major'. They won't wait 5 months to treat your flu. By then, your flu would have gone away and 2 more bouts of flus would probably have passed in the meantime.
There are still many different 'real stories' depicted in the documentary, but going through all of them will turn this into a 5000-word essay. I guess the documentary can speak for itself. Do try to get your hands on the documentary. It opens up a new insight to the 'health care' in America. Of course, if you have watched previous documentaries such as 'Bowling in Columbine' and 'Farenheit 9/11' from Michael Moore, you would expect the same critcism of the Bush administration.
I still think the USA is going to the dumps. As a superpower(or is it still one?), it really sucks. Where else do you find a country which takes care of the rich, shoots each other with absolutely no reason, imbues terror into its people, throw people out of hospitals literally, and still claims that it is a wonderful and developed nation? Oh come on. Face it. The USA is being destroyed by the Bush administration. They spend so many years, so much money, and so many lives invading Iraq with claims of WMDs in Iraq, ignoring the decision by the United Nations forbidding them from attacking Iraq and end up finding nothing. I am so glad that Bush didn't manage to carry on with his presidency. If not, the USA would be gone from the world map before his next term of presidency ends.
By the way, why is it that everyday, we pledge to 'build a democratic society' when Singapore is actually a parliamentary republic. I mean, we are actually far from being a democracy, so isn't this quite ironic? Well, if you realise, we don't really fit the definition of a democratic nation. Ironic, isn't it?
And oh yes, the new song, "I Need To Wake Up" by Melissa Etheridge is dedicated to Live Earth Day, which is today. I will blog about Live Earth Day tomorrow. So you all are going to expect 2 long posts. Hah. Don't get too bored reading it. They are issues of concerns and are actually very interesting topics. Global issues, yes. If we all play a small part, we can change the world. Don't you think so?

The phone rang.
"Hey. Do you want to go catch a movie now?"
Looks at clock. Its 8pm.
Okayy. Its definitely Zkai on the phone.
I called Chris and he said he had a 1/25000000 probability of coming out. 1 in 25 million.
But if you read the news yesterday, the same number came out in 4D for 1st and 2nd place. It was said that the probability of this would be 1 in 100 million. So what's 1 in 25 million?
And true enough, Chris got permission to go out.
And we caught Fantastic 4 at 9:40pm. At AMK Hub.
The show encompassed many different subjects. There was Chemistry-related issues, Geography-related, Physics-related...
But, like all superhero shows, the show defied much of Physics laws. Haha.
There are much impossible stuffs happening in the show. But hey. Its just a show.
It was pretty decent. Neat effects. Would rate it 4 out of 5.
I would watch this over Transformers. That one only has a 2 star rating by reviews. Haha.
When I was going home after the show, I walked past the Bishan interchange again. Recalled something I observed long ago.
You know, when night time arrives, one would expect the buses to be left and kept at the bus terminals right? I mean, isn't that what bus terminals are for?
But the other day, when i passed by at 1am, I noticed that there was not a single bus in the terminal at all. Where do the buses after that? Back to the depot to re-fuel? Probably. Wouldn't that mean there are people spending the whole night just doing maintainence on the buses? Heh. Doesn't seem like a nice job.
By the way, if you read the news today, there was this intriguing headline.
Drought-stricken Aussie areas hit by massive floodsThe irony of climate change nowadays.
Wonder what causes it? Global warming? Maybe.
The world is going to the dumps. Haha.

Imagine yourself living in a world where everyone around you are just actors.
They are all pretenders. Nothing is real except yourself.
You are in a world where noone is real to you.
Your life is a play. The people around you are the actors.
You are yourself. They act according to a script. And the script revolves around your life. The script adapts itself according to your life.
Think. Is your life reality? Is what you perceive real? If all the people around you are pretenders, but you do not know, will that be bliss or imprisonment?
One day, you wake up. You find out that everyone has been lying to you. Everyone has been pretending. You have been controlled all along. Your life was being directed. In actual fact, you had no freedom. You never had. You had only lived in a world of lies, in a world of pretence. Even your best friend was yet another pretender. Your wife was an actor. Noone had been real to you.
Run away? Yea. Sure. How? Everywhere you go, they are watching you. Run? To where?

I watched Spiderman 3 today with jx and chris. Like.. finally?
The show was very draggy in the middle!! They took forever to highlight the relations between Spidey and MJ. And that occupied much of the show itself.
But based on everything I evaluated, I think Parker is one insensitive spider. Seriously, Harry would have been a better choice than Parker for MJ.
She couldn't even get comfort from Parker or find anyone to talk to.
And all Spidey was interested in was to raise his own publicity.
He should be shot la. I wonder why MJ never dumped him earlier.
For some reason, the moral of the story was about friendship.
Something about the importance of friends. Didn't really catch it. And I didn't catch any nice music either. That's it then.

I just watched yet another intriguing documentary. This one is about the 1st lunar landing on the Moon in 1969(Apollo 11) where the USA supposedly landed 3 men on the Moon and subsequent Apollo missions. Note: I used the word ‘supposedly’.
Yes. This documentary debuts the fact that NASA landed people on the Moon in the mission Apollo 11 and questions whether men really landed on the moon. Whoa, you might say. How can that be? You mean we never did land on the moon?
Well, I can’t say anything for that. You could watch the video, but in the end, judge for yourself. Do you think men really landed on the moon in 1969?
There are much evidences provided in the documentary, titled “Did We Land on The Moon?” It was released by Fox TV in 2001.
The only evidences I am going to comment on are the photography evidences presented by the hoax theorists. Of course =]
You can catch the rest of the evidence if you watch this documentary. Its all quite intriguing.
One evidence proposed by the hoax theorists was that there were no stars in the photos which showed the space. I must say that light from stars are extremely weak and faint so it is highly unlikely that there will be much light from the stars captured in the photos. It’s the reason why the sun light up the Earth but the stars just twinkle. Given the circumstances they were in, its pretty reasonable that there were no stars seen in the photo.
But here comes the other evidences. There were some situations where the astronauts were standing in the shadow of the space shuttle, yet they were not in shadow. That is, the astronauts were lit while standing in a shadow, as if there was a spotlight on them. Unless Physics doesn’t work the same way on the Moon, I would say that this is virtually impossible. Its like standing in the shade, brightly lit with no other light sources.
Another evidence was that the features of the subjects were not thrown into shadow even though the light source was a backlight. Every detail of the subject from the front view was clear, bright and distinct, although it was a backlight shining on them(supposedly the Sun). There was no other light source, so how can they be so well lighted up?
One can argue that the exposure was compensated for by the camera and thus the subjects were brightened up. But look, we are talking 1960s technology here.
Even if that was the case, the details of all the other parts of the photo would have been completely whitewashed. Yet, the other parts of the photo looked normal. Questionable, huh?
The last evidence I will comment about are on the shadows of the astronauts while they were on the Moon.
The shadows were in different directions and different lengths, suggesting that there could have been more than one light source, and that would not be possible, since the only light source is the Sun.
Let’s correct that statement. It is possible for shadows to be in different directions with only one light source, provided that the light source was very close, like as close as props to a lamp, which is the light source, in a studio.
Other than that, the shadows of objects would be in nearly the same direction for a distant light source, like how our own shadows are all cast in the same direction when the Sun is shining down on us. But in the documentary, the shadows were nearly perpendicular to each other. We are talking perpendicular here. That can be explained either by that the whole moon landing was done in a studio, or the Sun was next to them.
Nasa argued that the cause for the different lengths in the shadow was due to the different height levels that the astronauts were standing on. True, different height levels will result in different shadow lengths. But for a distant light source, the difference is less obvious while for a close-up light source, the difference is pretty obvious. In NASA’s own videos and photos, the astronauts were standing about 20 or 30cm difference in height with a very prominent difference in their shadow lengths. Other than that, the height level theory cannot explain the difference in the direction of the shadows. You can try it out at home if you doubt this. Try holding a torchlight or lamp and shine it at objects from far away and from close-up. Observe the shadows. Place your subjects at different heights. Try different distances. You will get what I mean.
That’s about it then. If you are interested in watching this video, I do have a copy of the video. Its 437mb so I won’t be sending it to anyone through e-mail or over Msn. If you want it, just pass me a thumbdrive or a CD-R and I can give you a copy. Otherwise, its available on Google Video, but much lower resolution. The title of this documentary is “Did We Land on The Moon?”
So, did we?
One point to note:
I know that recently many of us have been having problems blogging because our blogger dashboard and "Create Post" section has gone haywire. Other than that, an error message keeps appearing all the time such that we can't do a thing. I have been having that problem too.

I just finished watching 'Bowling in Columbine' yesterday. And I highly recommend everyone to watch it.
Yet another movie by Michael Moore. Just as thought-inspiring in terms of the revelation of truth as any other documentaries such as 'An Inconvenient Truth'.
Although the truth is quite subjective in recent days, with all the conspiracies going on, every negative thing going on still seems to be directed at the United States of America.
To quickly evaluate 'Bowling in Columbine', the movie is about the number of shootings occuring in the U.S. and the debate why Americans are so much more prone to shooting their own people than other countries.
And the common topic? Shootings occuring in schools.
I don't have to point out that the latest shooting that occured in a school was also in the U.S. -though it was done by a Korean instead of an American. But don't we all notice that all the shootings in schools occured in America? In fact, the youngest person ever to kill another person with a gun was only 6 years old. Yes. SIX years old. The boy shot his classmate with a gun - a gun which he found in his uncle's house and which he brought to school. The girl died. A mere six-year old girl. Maybe the boy thought it was only a toy. And like all toys, it would produce a harmless 'bang' sound and that was it. But this was a real gun, a loaded one. How can people just simply have guns lying around?
Oh. Just for comparison, the average number of people who die under a gun every year are as follows.
In Germany, 381. In France, 255. In Canada, 165. In the U.K., 68. In Australia, 65. In Japan, 39.
In the U.S.? 11,127. Seriously, don't you realise there's something wrong with this country?
In the whole of American history, the Americans have lived in fear.
They are afraid of everything. Practically everything. In fact, the Bush administration has pumped much more fear into the hearts of the Americans.
I must disclaim that I am anti-Bush before I carry on, because I will be making quite a few comments against Bush.
After all the information I have taken in, I believe that Bush took over the presidency with underhand methods. Yes, you could say that I might have been brainwashed by conspiracy videos, but as I said, the truth is subjective nowadays. Noone can say who is right and who is wrong because noone knows. But, what I hold are what I believe in.
Another thing I believe in is that the World Trade Center incident, aka 9/11, was a stage perfomance held by the Bush administration itself, at the expense of 3,000 lives, with the purpose of pumping more fear into Americans. How can the most powerful country in the world possibly be so afraid of every minor thing?
George Lucas could have seen this all along. In the epsiodes of Star Wars, he wrote: Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to Pain and sufferings. Pain and sufferings lead to the Dark side.
Forget the Dark Side. Let's look at the first and second lines.
How much anger is in the hearts of the Americans? How much anger can prompt people to shoot their own people? How much pain and sufferings are the families of the victims going through?
One day, you should take a look at what the Americans watch in their news. Deaths, murders, crimes, crimes and more crimes. Violence. The belief that there is something to be constantly afraid of is in most of them.
When Michael Moore interviewed an American, he said that he was constantly afraid of people committing crimes that will affect him directly. He felt that everyone else was dangerous.
Look at the Canadians. Most of the people interviewed said they did not lock their doors. When asked why, they said: Why is there a need to?
Some of them were even robbed before due to this, but still, they kept their doors opened. They believed that it was safe. It was a safe environment.
But the Americans? They locked their doors up so tight, yet they still keep guns under their pillows, ready to shoot anything that moves in the night.
Can you believe how much fear are in those people?
The U.S. are also always interfering when other countries have a war. What has it got to do with them anyway? Whoever that fights in this world, its something the U.S. has to take care of. Is it for their own benefits? Or is it simply to shoot anyone that can threaten them and make them afraid?
There's something really wrong with that country and its administration. Yes. I applaud the day when the country celebrates a new administration and a change to it. Its viewed as the most powerful nation in the world. But yet, it is not. Internally, its a disaster. The next generation of Americans need to learn to open themselves up to the people around them. Its the fear of crimes in them that is causing the crimes in the first place.
Sigh. Pity, pity. A country going to waste for all the internal problems it is facing. Still, their administration seems to be more interesting in bombing Iraq than anything.

Fri was good. Cos it was Good Friday.
I got woken up by my alarm at 8am but I slept till 9+
Heng my sis woke me up when she walked into my room.
If not I cfm go on till 1pm den wake up.
I realised Cathay too inflexible already.. Cannot book tickets thru phone, cannot book tickets thru Axs machine. Only got like 3 cineplexes...
So I went down to town at 9+ to go buy our tix for e outing at 4pm.
I heard Orchard MRT got this amazing 24-hour ticket dispenser by Cathay. So I went to try it out.
But the funny thing is..
1st: Select show
2nd: Select timing
3rd: Select seats
Where's the "Select cineplex"?
Later I kanna allocated causeway point how??
Heck. I walked over to Somerset.. not a very long walk anyway.
Its just past Taka, Ngee Ann and Mandarin Hotel only.
I managed to get the 5th and 6th row. Not bad alr. Half the cinema was already gone by last night.
I think its amazing enough to get the 5th and 6th row.
Cos by 12:30pm I checked back again. Whole theatre bought down. Including the 1st and 2nd row.
Heng I went down early ar.
So.. after estimating the time needed for people to come late, I arranged to meet up 45 min early.
Considering we entered the theatre exactly on time, 45 min was actually an accurate gauge lol.
Movie 1: Mr Bean's Holiday
One word, 4 letters to describe the movie: Diao.
And two words, 11 letters to add on: Where's Teddy?
Yep. The most commonly asked question on every forum.
Honestly the movie is not as funny as most of Mr Bean's shows used to be.
Most of the laughter just rose barely and subsided.
This is also the last show that the character 'Mr Bean' will be starring in.
Aw. Wad a bad end to Bean.
Still. It should be deserving enough to watch the last movie of Bean.
And if you have watched it, and you want the song from the credits and the chicken chase..
I do have it =))
Amazing song finding skills lol. Get the song from me directly if you want.
Its called 'Crash' by Matt Willis.
And I believe its one of the only English songs in the movie.
The rest are French I believe. The movie doesn't even have an official soundtrack release. Either that.. Or I can't seem to find it.
After that was dinner.
Nowhere fancy. Cos someone was desperate for food already.. So we jumped at anywhere with seats. And we went to the food court.
Every stall looks the same at every food court. Kinda boring.
A while later...
"Let's go take neoprints!"
"No, lets play cards instead. Why don't you all continue chatting?"
"Neoprints!"
"Ok ok fine.. one last game of bridge."
We found ourselves at the neoprints shop.
So in case you all are still wondering who I actually went out with, here goes:
.jpg)
Haha. Acrodia. Our last outing was aeons ago.
I am not organising the next one. I might be too busy to in the future.
And too lazy too. Lol. Someone organise the next one okie?
After the neoprints, we all went up to the arcade.
Spammed game after game of Air Hockey. We had a lot of people watching us(the 4 guys) play. Cos our white discs were practically flying off the table lol. Too violent alr. And the game was super fast and intense. You see.. the best way to play that game is to apply the maximum force you can on the disc so they move at the fastest speed. Bear with me for a moment here =)
Force
= rate of change of momentum(over time)
= mass X rate of change of velocity(over time)
since mass is a constant, the higher the change of velocity over time, the higher the force exerted on the white disc
Conclusion: Hit the disc at super fast speeds. Dun need much force de. Just need speed.
The guys played 2 games, den I teamed up with poh sin to play against veron and kejia.
Poh sin too gentle alr =X
And I think I am too violent. Lol.
Den the guys played 1 more extreme game.
The score reached 8-8 and we reached final play. Lol.
Super tense sia.
After some flying back and forth, I zham-ed the last disc at superspeed into the goal.
Lol. The speed of the thing was incredible. < 1 second and it was gone.
Movie 2: Number 23
I dunno how we all got convinced to watch a 9pm show, considering how late it was running. But we went on anyway. The movie psychos people. And it really gets your mind to start calculating every single alphabet and number lol!
My number is 24. I am convinced =)
Lol.
It was a thriller. But thrillers aren't thrilling to me. Maybe cos I can handle all the blood scenes and gore quite well. Silent Hill was more thrilling than this one. Depends what you view as thrilling I guess. A few suicide and murder scenes and blood here and there isn't as thrilling to me.
I wanna watch 300. I heard its more 'thrilling' =X
I ain't a very violent-seeking person ok. But then some movies to scare yourself once in a while would er.. keep oneself active.
Everyone chiong-ed home after that.
I guess most of the people went beyond their curfews le.
Cos it was 11:30pm when we left.
My curfew is till the time my mom finds out I am not at home =X
Shhh. Don't tell her. Lol. I am a good boy =)
I met quite a few people today also. Met Johnson just before dinner. Met Zi Tao at the arcade. Haven't seen em in ages. I saw some other AJ people too. But I didn't know them personally. Who said the world was big?
Wanted to watch 300 which had finished downloading when I reached home.
But OMG ARGH it was in Russian!
Had to re-dl the whole thing in English.
Darn. That's gonna take ages again.
Oh well. I can't understand Russian without subtitles.
Next time better check the language before dl-ing.
Alright. That's it for now then.
I know I only got one photo cos I am too lazy to upload them. Wait a min.
Actually I don't have any photos.
If you wanna see more photos, poh sin's blog has quite a few.
She uses pics more than words.
Cos a picture speaks a thousand words.
Since I got no photos, I will have to use a thousand words to make up for the pic.
Happy reading lol, if you reached this point that is.

Yes I watched my first movie of the year before sch reopened!
Thanks to my Msn private msg, I managed to watch both DN2 and NATM in 2 days =))
Met up with Joey at J8 for dinner at abt 5+.
For some reason, the food court was full of people.
Does everyone eat dinner at 5+?
Oh. For me it was breakfast, lunch and dinner put together.
I don't keep a healthy habit of eating at usual times =P
We went all the way to Yishun to catch Night at the Museum.
Cos Bishan seems impossible. There was only row A and B left.
Bishan is always impossible to get good seats anyway. Unless you go down super early. Don't go Bishan on the last minute. On the other hand, Yishun is always empty. You can turn up 1 min before the movie starts and still get good seats. Lol.
Night at the Museum was a nice show. A very original plot, with twists and jokes... I really recommend pple to catch this if you haven't.
4 out of 5 stars in my opinion.
Its basically a comedy that highlights a family twist.
Yep. 27 hours left and I will be back in school.
The hols are coming to a close end.

How did I spend my last day of 2006?
Definitely not stone at home the whole day.
That was out of the question lol.
I woke up at 1pm. Oh my. only 11 hours left of the last day.
Chiong-ed out out of the house by 2pm to meet up with Ken for Death Note 2: The Last Name
I must admit Death Note 1 was better, but Death Note 2 wasn't that bad either. The ending was totally unexpected in this continued saga of a clash of wits between 2 geniuses. Who's smarter anyway? But the last scene was rather unnecessary.
4 out of 5 stars. A movie not to be missed. Especially when you have watched Death Note 1. Cos the first scene of Death Note 2 is the last scene of Death Note 1. A totally continued story.
Ken insisted on going home after the movie. We were supposed to be meeting up with Douglas for dinner so I met up with Douglas instead. He managed to get Tim out and we went to eat at Secret Recipe.
My sis works there. Thanks to her, we had 20% off the bill and a free cup of ice lemon tea =P
Hais. 3 hours left after dinner.
We spent it watching "Curse of the Golden Flower".
Yep. 2nd movie for me in a day.
I guess my last 2 hours of my life was wasted. Totally.
If I compared the Convenant to this movie by Jay Chou and Gong Li, the Convenant would have been better.
0.5 out of 5 stars. "Curse of the Golden Flower" is totally a movie deserving to be MISSED. Please don't watch it. Trust me. It will seriously render you speechless. No climax, extremely slow storyline and boring battle scenes. A totally pathetic movie.
Omg. And that's how I spent my last day of 2006.
HAPPY NEW YEAR PEOPLE!
WELCOME 2007!!!
Oh and I just received a christmas card super late. Cos the unit number was written as 444. There's no unit 444 around here. So the postman put it in 447. But 447 probably passed it to 445. And 445 knew me. So 445 wanted to pass it to me at 433. But noone was in. So it was passed to my neighbour, 435. And eventually I just received it. Nice journey for a letter. =d

I just finished watching Silent Hill today.
A bit lag but yea.
Cos the dl was kinda slow.
Lol.
This movie is very very gross.
The director and producer seems to like tearing people apart.
There was one scene where a girl's skin was ripped off her.
Omg la.
A lot of gore.
But I don't get the ending.
They didn't wrap it up properly.
I don't know what happened to them in the end.
They didn't explain a lot of stuff..
Up to our imagination perhaps?
Class SL is tmr.
I am so
not looking foward to it.

I watched "Trust The Man" today.
I would rate it 3.5 stars. Mainly for the lack of subtitles.
The start of the story was rather confusing but once you grasp the storyline, it begins to get interesting.
How would I evaluate the storyline in 3 words?
Sex. Life. Trust.
Lol. Although there was a lack of subtitles, it was distinct that the characters were talking about their sexual life.
I don't know how many positions and styles I heard. I didn't count.
There was a major highlight on that part, so er.. I wun prefer to elaborate.
The movie also presented the more 'open' lifestyle of Americans today.(They are Americans right? Pardon me if I am wrong.)
In Singapore, shaking of hands is the usual greeting. Some don't even do so.
As shown in the movie, the characters greet each other with hugs and kisses. Imagine that in Singapore. Unlikely eh?
Trust. Nothing much to say on this. Just have faith in your family and friends. Trust them.
Of cos. This show has many funny scenes. But you will need to be able to catch what they are saying to grasp the joke of cos.

Just finished watching the Matrix.
Its a rather complicated movie.
My dad doesn't understand its storyline.
So he doesn't know what the heck is going on.
I do understand what's going on.
And I like this movie.
I prefer science fantasy movies over any other genres.
Star Wars is one of my fav.
Matrix might not be so much towards science fantasy.
But its something new altogether.
I like kung-fu movies too.
As long as its something new out of this boring world.
Actually come to think of it, there's also another world which many of us live in.
The digital world.
What we call being 'online'.
I am always online. Everyone knows that.
I indulge myself in another world altogether.
Where communication is possible over distance.
Where everything exists in a different way.
Online life is different.
People communicate via a different way.
We 'talk' without having to open our mouth.
We 'talk' with our fingers. And our keyboard.
I like this different of life because of how different it is.
I tend to be more open.
Its an easier life to live.
Who spends time taking exams online? -_-
So. I like stories which creates a whole new world.
Because any world appears to be better than the one I am living in.
But face it.
The real world's the one we actually live in.
So just let me indulge in my thoughts for the moment.
Before I get knocked back into the real world and realise that I still have an Econs test tmr.
Sigh. The real world.
Sux.
Come to think of it. I usually on my com to listen to music.
Perhaps I wun need to do so anymore when I have an mp3 player.
*hint hint*
Lol.
I know everyone's feeling like this now.
Me too.
But let's all take it easy.
It won't take you more than 1 min. Trust me. You will know if you are too stressed after that.

=)) Had a long and enjoyable day today.
Guess wad?
The super accurate xc who always arrives exactly on time at any meeting(except those in Bishan) was 12 minutes late today!
And the reason was the stupidest one ever.
I was at Bishan Mrt at 10:47.
Going to meet up at Somerset at 11:00.
I was already late.
And guess what?
I took the train on the wrong side.
And I went to AMK instead.
Lol. How dumb.
The result was that I was at AMK on the correct side waiting for a train at 10:55.
Went to Cineleisure.
We went to the arcade for a while before going to Kbox.
Kbox was very entertaining.
We started off with a Happy Birthday song for Chris.
Yep. Its Chris's bday today.
Happy Birthday!
Hope you enjoyed urself today =)
We sang for 3.5 hrs.
Den got chased out.
Haha.
It was particularly entertaining to watch Zkai and Doug dancing.
Lol.
You should really see them.
Oh yes.
I have decided to check on each song's MV before I dedicate songs to pple.
Anyone got any idea what's the MV for "zu ni yi lu shun feng"?
We all nearly died of laughter when we saw the MV.
It starts off with.. rows and rows of tombstones.
Lol. Get it?
Zkai left us for tuition after Kbox.
We decided to wait for him to end his tuition so we culd all go for dinner.
Went for lan on the 9th floor.
Met up with Zkai after that.
We went for dinner at Scotts Plaza.
For some reason, he kept talking about a certain topic after coming back from tuition.
What has he been talking about the whole tuition eh?
Gerald???
Got explanation?
Wait till I get at Zkai again.
Doug, Chris and me decided to go for a movie after that.
The Host.
I checked the genre of the movie again and again.
On multiple sites.
It all said 'horror'.
But I could have sworn that the genre should have been 'Comedy'.
Its like a 60% comedy and a 40% horror show lor.
And the guy who wrote this story.
Is damn anti-climax.
1.5 out of 5 stars cos its genre is 'horror'.
3 out of 5 stars if its genre is 'comedy'.
Oh yes.
The title of the movie also doesn't fit the storyline.
They should call it "The Big Bad Monster" instead.
"The Host" just doesn't make sense.
Watch this movie anyway.
If you want a good laugh.
If you want a good scream,
go get a roller coaster ride instead.
Reached home at 9:30pm.
How early.

Ok la. Hven't been so happy for some time. Thanks a lot to everyone who came today.
9 of us gathered for lunch after the celebrations.
Went to eat at NYP.
Got me, marcus, joan, ken, lydia, xue qin, desmond, wayne and leon.
wayne and desmond left for pool after lunch.
xue qin left to go home for sth.
Patrick joined us at lunchtime.
No not Patrick the starfish. its the basketballer. XD
So the rest of us went to town =))
And I was saying, lets go watch fireworks at esplanade tonight at 9 k?
it was 12pm then.
9 hours to fill up.
Went shopping around.
Went for a movie at 1:20pm
龙虎门。I rated it 3 out of 5.
Ok I would say the fight scenes were good.
The main thing about this movie revolves around the fight scenes.
But coming to the story line ar.. how would I say it?
简直是一塌糊涂!We went back to shopping at Heerens after that.
Joan bought some new specs.
Went pooling at Lucky Plaza.
Till about 6+.
Patrick, Lydia and Leon left.
So theres 4 of us left. Me, Joan, Marcus and Ken.
We went to Seoul Garden for dinner.
I am still wondering how I got convinced to go there.
My 1st time there anyway.
As Marcus says, there's always a first time.
We ate for abt 2 hrs.
Quite fun there lol.
We came up with a tonne of lame jokes.
And I was laughing and laughing so hard that my stomach was hurting.
Joan was laughing and laughing cos she said that I looked funny when I was laughing so hard. So she was laughing.
..................................................
Ok. Damn cool man.
Lol.
Walked by this person as we were leaving.
After that person did something, Marcus and I promptly found the closest wall and smashed our heads on it.
I will tell you what that person did next time.
Took the MRT down to City Hall.
I heard this announcement going on for the 1st time: The MRT station is flooded at the moment. If you are not taking the train, please leave the MRT station now.
I can see why that announcement is going on and on.
The MRT station looked like there was the Great Singapore Sale going on.
Just people, people and more people.
We began walking to the Esplanade.
It was basically just following the crowd.
There were a tonne of people alr there.
Pple all rdy and settled down and waiting for the fireworks.
We went to the bridge near the Esplanade.
The fireworks began.
It was beautiful.
Especially the finale fireworks.
That one was so fantastic that everyone clapped.
I loved dat part too.
Reached home at 10:30pm.
Outings just rox XD

Thursday. The usual boring day.
PE. GP. Chinese.
Nothing significant happened at all.
I can’t fix my com. I think I will bring it down to Sim Lim Square this weekend instead.
Went to watch "Click" with Joan and Marcus today.
I would rate this movie 4 out of 5.
No it doesn't have any fantastic animations.
It doesn't have a fantastic storyline either.
It can barely match up to LOTR.
But the message it brought across struck me deeply.
I would seriously recommend this movie to everyone.
The reason why I didn't rate it 5 out of 5 was cos of the ending.
Its soooo diao.
Anyway the bottom line is.
Every moment of our life is precious.
Cherish every second of it.
Cherish everyone around you.
Your friends, your family, your relatives.
One day, when you look back.
You will realize how time has passed by.
But have you treated the people around you well?
Have you lived a meaningful life?
Have the people around you benefited from your presence?
Or have they suffered?
Have you been indulged in your own work all along?
Have you neglected the people around you?
Those who really care about you: your parents, your family members, your friends.
Have you thought about them no matter what you do?
One day, when someone has left.
You will suddenly realize that you have not spent enough time with him/her.
Has it been because you never had enough time for him/her?
Or have you never thought of spending some time with him/her?
You may cry, you may despair.
But the person is gone.
And in life, there's no such thing as a rewind button.
Its too late for regrets.
How you would wish you could turn the clock back.
How much you would want to go back so you can cherish that moment.
But its all too late.
So cherish everyone while you can today.
Because tomorrow is too late.
“Time is the one resource you can't afford to waste. Because its a non-renewable resource. And there's only so much of it which each person has. There's no such thing as insufficient time. There's only time well-spent and time wasted.”I have self-reflected. And I have much regrets.
I know I can no longer turn the clock back.
So I have decided.
I will cherish the present. The past is past.
I can only regret the past.
But yes I can cherish the present.
And bring forward a better future.

Kk I am in kind of a hurry here so I am be quick abt dis.
All our predictions failed.
Mrs Yim didn't give us a 1 hr scolding after all.
But she wanted her homework done.
That's about all.
Only 10 minutes spent on it.
Got my GP paper back.
Passed by 0.5 marks.
If what I hear is correct, and that it only needs 4 points to pass promos,
I got 3 points already.
Just 1 more point to go!
Either Econs or Geo.
Ok if you dunno wad i m talking abt, here's a quick explanation.
According to someone from somewhere and somehow,
I heard that we need 4 points to pass promos.
1 H2 pass = 2 points
1 H2 sub-pass = 1 point
1 H1 pass = 1 point
1 H1 sub-pass = 0 points
Ungraded = 0 points
This is what I heard. Sources might be unreliable.
Chinese was darn short.
The 2 hour lesson became a 45 min lesson.
As usual she had to go off early for Oral.
Its been like this for 2 weeks =P
Oh ya Mr Arthur Lim was "having fun" with us at PE today.
The new teacher dismissed us at about 8:40 saying it was nearing the end of the period anyway.
After the 45 push-ups he made us do.
Cos he said he wanted to teach us some simple army exercise.
Hmmm. Push-ups. K.
Then apparently we all gathered outside the PE office to get rdy to collect our valuables.
And Mr Arthur Lim asked wad we were doing dere.
We said we were collecting our valuables.
And he said "Huh? Really? Ok. All push-up positions down."
...?
Den he asked us when did we ever had PE dat ended at 8:45.
And I tot it always ended at 8:45.
Someone shouted "today!"
And we ended up in that position for some time.
He sure did take his time going into the PE office and coming back out.
Den he said "All those from my class gather here. The rest remain in position."
Hey! No fair. We ain't from his class.
And after everyone from his class had gathered and were sitting down,
he turned to the rest of us looking like he was puzzled and said
"Don't you all want to go off early?"
...............
Must be very boring to be a teacher. Self-entertainment.
Went to AMK to eat lunch at S11 after sch with Marcus, Joan and Zi Tong.
The 21 peeps passed us as we finished our meal.
Said they were gg to watch POTC II: Dead Man's Chest
Oo so tempting.
After a 2 min debate, me, marcus and joan went to watch with em.
Zi Tong was watching with his family tmr, so he left.
Heard he went to the lib after all to gather materials for PW.
=/ Paiseh.
No movie spoilers here.
Its a fantastic movie.
Very humorous and entertaining.
=))
Enjoy watching!

Wah. My dad came home very early today.
He asked me why I was at home on a nice Saturday afternoon.
Well poor me you see... I said I would be all alone this hols =(
So far no outing is in progress... so poor me is stuck at home.
Double Wah. My dad suddenly wanted to go watch X-Men III.
So he told me to go buy 2 tix at J8.
I saw Singapore Idol doing some advertising there
I think they were giving out tickets for the next Singapore Idol screening.
Hmm saw Paul Two-hill's face under the 28 finalists
Many people think he will get into the finals.
I ain't sure.. I havent watched any episodes of Singapore Idol yet.
Went into the theatre 15 min late. Advertisements were still going on as expected.
Don't they ever think of cutting down on the ads?
Ok what can I say about the show?
I shouldn't do spoilers here... maybe some people reading this haven't watched the show yet.
But overall I would describe it as a period of time where the good mutants and the bad mutants decided to fight over a little boy and many mutants died.
Yea. nice description?
Anyway if you are thinking of watching the show, watch till the end of the credits.
I suspect there's still 1 more episode. After all, the good mutants and the bad mutants still have enough firepower for another battle. Is this really the last stand? We will see then.
Oh yea. Before I forget.
Happy 17th Birthday Geng Liang!!!Labels: movie/documentary
