I nearly lost my handphone yesterday!

Cabbed to work from AMK cos I was 10 minutes away from being late for work and it was pouring heavily. Halfway during the ride, I picked a call.. and just put my hp down.
When I reached my workplace, I just went into the building, leaving my hp in the taxi.

Halfway while walking to my office.. I tried to take my phone out and.. OMG. MY PHONE WAS GONE! argh!

I quickly rushed into the office and dialed my own number twice. Noone picked up.

I remembered it was a yellow-top cab, so I called Comfort. It took forever to connect to their customer service.. and the worst thing was, the controller didn't help me at all. Her tone suggested a high degree of impatience, and she just told me to call LTA instead. What the hell!? Comfort's customer service's standard is extremely disappointing.

The lucky thing was.. when i called my own phone for the third time, someone picked up. He said he was the TV gate security guard, and the cab driver had brought my phone back to him.
Omg. I totally dashed down to the TV gate and thanked the cab driver.

Too bad i didn't note down his license plate.. could have made a tribute to him. Lols.

Feel dam lucky to have met an honest driver like him.. and comfort customer service still sucks.

I passed my driving test today!
Yep. Emphasis intended. I felt like waving my driving license at everyone when I was walking around SSDC after my test and at everyone I met. Hahaha.

It was the weirdest weather I ever encountered since I started driving.. and on a test date too.

I got to drive a new car today! The mileage was only about 1200km. The instructor told me the car was running for the first day only. Oh man. The car was so silent that I felt a bit out of place when I started my warmup. It was unlike the older cars at SSDC that I was used to: noisy and cranky.

But who the heck complains about having a nice car? LOL.

So I started the warmup.. and presto. 5 minutes into the warmup, rain poured down like someone was throwing buckets of water down all over the place. It didn't even start as a drizzle. 3 minutes later, the rain stopped. 5 minutes later, it poured down again. Wth.
The best thing was, when we drove out of the circuit for the warmup on the road, it wasn't even raining outside the circuit.

The ominous clouds were just pouring down on SSDC. Creepy huh?

Ok so I was back in the circuit before I knew it.. and I thought it felt like only a few minutes into the warmup.. but a quick check on my handphone showed that 1 hour had already passed. The warmup was over.

Luckily, the rain had slowed to a near-stop by then.

I went up to the traffic police department and balloted for a test route, and got the number 4. I was super worried after that cos test route 4 was one of the tougher ones on the list.
But then, I found out that the number was to decide which tester I was getting, and not which test route. So tester number 4 would be testing me on test route 2, which is slightly easier, but had 2 road areas where I knew I was weak at.

One of the testers gave us a quick briefing, told us to relax, and we were off to our test cars. I was the second last person to be called out.. Sitting there watching everyone go is like waiting for your turn to the guillotine.

Ok so it wasn't long before my tester came, and we started the practical test. He was an impatient fella, and wasn't a very warm one either. I tried to strike up some small talk with him, and he ignored me like I was talking to someone else.. and there was noone else around of cos.

So he rushed me through all the circuit courses.. and halfway through, I saw a tick on my assessment checklist. Crap. That was demerit points awarded. Thank goodness I saw that it was a mere 2-pointer. I was preparing for him to slam the dashboard(indicating for me to do the emergency brake) just as we were going to leave the circuit.. But it never came. He didn't test me on E. brake. Weird.

We went along test route 2 as per normal, but just as we reached a junction that should have gone straight on the test route to a U-turn point, he altered the test route and told me to go left instead. All testers have the rights to alter the test route as they wished.. But where was I going to do a U-turn now???

The U-turn never came! He told me to drive back to the circuit 1 street later. I wasn't tested on U-turn either!?
Ok so we drove back to the circuit on record time, being the second last car to move out, and the second car to come back.

He brought me to his office, where he assessed my performance during the test.
"You didnt check your mirror when overtaking.. please take note of that."
That might have been the time when I was returning to circuit and there were cars parked alongside the road. 2 demerit points.
"Also, you turned your steering wheel while the vehicle was stationary."
I thought that was during vertical parking.. but turns out it was parallel parking. Might have been the time when I was straightening my car. 2 demerit points.

And I got 2 demerit points for delaying before moving off.

Total: 6 demerit points. No immediate failures.

It felt amazing when he circled the word 'Passed' and handed the assessment checklist to me.

This must have been my first assessment where I didn't get any points for blind spot checking.
Usually I tend to chalk up my demerit points on safety checks.. Hah.

So that's that for my driving assessment. Good luck to everyone else taking their driving test soon!

By the way, 'A' levels results release will be on the 7th of March, Friday at 2.30pm. Good luck!

Its the first of March already. Still no hint of anything from the MOE.
I am starting to get this feeling that the MOE community has been kidnapped overnight and maybe what I read on some random forum was right: all the results have been destroyed in a fire.

Ok. That's random. There's a rumour originating form VJC that the results release is this Friday, 7th March. Friday is the last possible day anyway, so if there's still no news by Wednesday, I will trust the forums. Lol.

There's only 30 days left to the end of my 4 months stint at MOCCA. Time sure flies. I was just reminiscing the first week at my job with one of my colleagues last week.
Haha. I was all quiet, not daring to communicate with anyone, didn't know any of them, and was trying hard to match the people in my office to this list of names I found attached to my cubicle.

3 months later, we were all sitting together at Sizzler's tearing the place down with our laughter. Haha.

I have been offered an opportunity to stay on and work for the next 2 years, shuffling between NS and work, but I will probably reject it. The reason is because its tiring to work with NS dragging me down, and another thing is that I probably wun be seeing with my colleagues either because the way it works doesn't require me to go to the office. No point in staying on then eh.

Oh well. I am definite that I won't forget these bunch of colleagues even after NS. Hoping that I can pick some time off to pay them a visit in the future(and hopefully they still remember me!)

That's the end of my first March entry. Happy Leap Year by the way.
