Woohoo! Just back from the BBQ hosted as a farewell party for the AJPS seniors.
Yep I reached home at 11:11pm. It was a totally fun day.

I was supposed to go to Chinatown today with Chee Wei and Min Jun.
Supposedly meeting at 9am.
But I woke up at 10:20.
I jumped when I saw the clock.
Omg lars.
Soooooo sorry!
It was unintentional >_<

Anw I met up with Charissa and Andrew later at 3pm.
We were going to buy the rest of the items for the BBQ ltr.
We loaded our trolley with a tonne of stuff and took ages at the check-out counter.
So sorry for the woman who was waiting behind us in the queue.
Cos we had this huge load of items.
Den I paid with the PS funds.
Er.. it was full of $2, $5 and $10 notes.
Mainly the former.
So the cashier counted once, twice, thrice...
about 5 times in total.
Opps. That delayed the woman behind us much longer.
Met up with Annette while we were dere.

We took a bus down to Charissa's house near Serangoon.
Me and Andrew proceeded on to do our job as part-time coolies.
Lugging stuff back and forth.
Then we went all the way to a provision shop far away to buy charcoal.
Then went to 7-11 3 bus stops away to buy ice.
Yea. Took all the way till 5+ b4 we got everything done.
I heard the rest of em just got on the bus at 5:40pm.
They were meeting at 5pm. Hahs.
I must note that they tried to start a fire at 5pm.
At 5:40pm the fire wasn't completely started yet.

The crowd came at 6pm.
Wow. That was about 40+ pple who turned up. Fantastic =D
Hinho and Chee Wei took over the starting of the fire and got it done in 5 minutes.
Dots.

It was an extremely nice BBQ =)
Eating and chatting.
Lol.
We were laughing and laughing a lot.

Too bad some of em left earlier at 9pm.
Cos we got out some cards and started playing.
Then Jian Qi lost his bet.
He had to jump in the swimming pool. On his own.
Lol.
It was so funny.
Wonder why none of the neighbours were complaining. We were making a tonne of a noise. Lol.

I just love PS so much more.
Its much more bonded.
=))

Any more activities coming up? Chalet? Outings?
The more the merrier.

Thanks to everyone who came =)
Everyone contributed to the fun and noise. Hahaha =D

"Send me the group photo soon!!!"

Words for thoughts.

Here's an extract from the above url.

An indeed realistic perpection of people

"I often wonder, what’s the point of living, if we just die in the end. Is there a reason to be here? or should we just fade away instead. In view of a typical perspection,we people are employing a ceaseless search for fame and fortune, and the primary objective is to be successful. Categorically, the term “to be successful” is often associate with getting a good job and live life in a rich and fancy way to most ppl. Whereby society is placing such a prodigious emphasis in money as it plays an intrumental role in life. Perhaps thats the primary reason that corresponds to our such materialistic thinking. However, one shall not be veered and overlook other important aspect of life. For instance, the emotional aspect that relates to kinship, love, and friendship…To us, life is all about enjoying it, n living them to the fullest positively. It can be the simplest thing ever to describe.. On the other hand, it can be view with so much complications whenever we concedes that people’s hankering for financial aspect is so colossal that they resort to crimes and underhand means depending how u view it. There is so much to pontificate…Its a virtual impossibility for me to do so…However, do keep in mind in amist of embarking on the route to success, we must adopt a pragmatic approach in solving our enigma and not be veer away from rationalism. And at same time not to shrink from our responsibility. "

O dear.. in case you all still dunno, Gary's injured.
And its not a simple injury.
We were playing bball earlier in the morning and he fell and injured his knee.
He seemed ok at first from primary examination.
But the teacher sent him to the hospital for a detailed checkup.
The results was: he had torn his ligament+ damaged something else.

His operation is probably over already as I am typing this.
I think he will be back in school on Mon.

Rest well Gary!!!

Btw. The choir's landing at 8:50pm. The choir landed at 8:42pm. Welcome home =)
They will be back tonight =)

I am so much happier. Finally my great frens are on the same soil as me =D

Hey everyone. I got good news for all of you!!!

The AJ choir has just won the gold medal
plus
Choir Olympic Champion for their category!!!

Woohoo!!! Congrats to the AJ Choir !!!!
I bet they are enjoying their time in Xiamen now.

Anw I went to Pulau Tekong today.
Some tour which I went b4.
And I went again just for the sake of it.

I was with the 21/06 pple who were gg for the trip too.
Namely Kim, Carena, Jie Sheng and Song Hua.
Haha we spent the bus ride to the pier well.
Was teaching Carena how to play bridge.
I think she picked up most of the basics already.

Took dunno how long to reach the SAF pier.
The Tekong tour was the same.
We went to the auditorium to watch a clip, den we started on our tour of the facilities.

1st stop was IPPT.
Nothing much.
They just told us that SBJ and pull-up was easy to fail.
Den there was this challenge as to who can do the most pull-ups.
The best one from AJ was 16.
The army guy promptly went up, did 21 and said : I think that's enuff.
And he came back down.

2nd stop was my fav. IMT!
They demoed to us the procedures of marksmanship training.
Den they told us that we could try it out ourselves!
Woot. I haven't fired that thing for ages!
They gave us the 25m target I think.
Dam. Where's the challenge?
I want the 100m one.
Anyway i scored all 6 shots within the 2 circles from the middle.
The army guy watching me said I was good. =d

3rd stop was a tour of their living quarters.
They had a lounge lor.
Wah. That's NS?
There was a TV, video player, darts, RISK, chess, Monopoly, table soccer etc in there.
And its air-conditioned.
Seems like conditions in there are getting better and better. I still remember that there's an arcade in there.

The 4th stop was probably one of the best.
It was... FOOOOOOOOOOOD.
I haven't eaten lunch and I was starving badly.
And they placed trays of food in front of us and told us to try it out.
Wah. So nice. Can't resist sia.
Then they gave out these packets of biscuits.
You know how they are giving it out?
When you approach em, they tell you to open your bag.
And they fill your bag with biscuits.
Yep.
We all ate a lot there. And those food is really filling. Just a lot of carbohydrates in there. It looks like a small meal but its seriously super filling.

We went back to the pier after that.
Up next on the list was refreshments.
LOL. I was so darn full I could barely eat anymore.
But as all of us were super greedy, we took a lot of the food at the pier anyway.
The sea breeze was super cooling and strong. Could smell the salt in the air.

Went back to Singapore after that. And took a bus back to AJ.
Was a great trip at Pulau Tekong.
Oh yea. We played the best bridge game ever just before we reached AJ.
It was me, Kim, Carena and Song Hua in a game.

I thought Carena was my partner.
Kim thought Song Hua was her partner.
Carena thought I was her partner.
Song Hua knew he was my partner.

I bidded 5 clubs =D
If you know how to play bridge, you will know what that really means.
So we played for so long all the way till the end.
When Song Hua played the card that revealed he was my partner.
We were all momentarily stunned.
Especially Kim and Carena.
They had been attacking each other the whole game.
Hahahaha.
Song Hua and I won.
11 sets =)

"Bridge some day again?

Oh yea. My sis was telling me that there was this problem of an IP address conflict going on in the internet network.
That's not right. With 2 computers (me and my sis's) wad conflict can there be?
So being the network administrator, I went to check the network.
BLOODY HELL. FIVE COMPUTERS CONNECTED TO THE NETWORK.
-_- So that explains why my 512k network is running like a 56k.
Kicked everyone else out of the darn network and placed a password on it.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Hmmph.

In the event of a fire breakout:

1. Ensure that cones are placed at the correct spots so that the classes will know when to stand.
2. Inform students to wait for 5 minutes while they check if there is really a fire.
3. Debate if the fire is in the canteen or at the Ohana; or both.
4. Inform the students that surprisingly, there is indeed a fire.
5. Ensure that students are all lined up behind the correct cones.
6. Check whether every student is present.
7. Check whether every staff member is present.
8. Check whether every non-staff member is present.
9. Inform the principal that everyone has been evacuated.
10. Put out the fire.

They taught irony during GP lecture today. Sad to say, I can't tell the difference between irony and sarcasm.

Alright I got my Progress Report back today.

Here's my own perspective of each evaluation.

GP: "Xin Chu's focus in class wavers from time to time."

I dunno why but she always insists that I am not attentive in class, and she thinks I am always falling asleep. I must note that it has not been proven that one is attentive only if one is staring at the person speaking. On the other hand, goldfish stare and sleep.

Maths: "Quiet in class."

I am shy =)

Physics: "He is a smart boy."

After that he ticked "Needs Improvement" on my "ability to cope with the demands of the subject", "ability to grasp and understand concepts" and "ability to apply knowledge".
In other words, I am smart but just stupid.

Economics: "Has good, positive learning attitude, but rather quiet in class. He is a responsible and motivated learner."

Sounds good. No comments.

Geography: "Xin Chu is a conscientious student but is too quiet in class."

That's the 3rd teacher to say I am quiet. Am I that quiet? Oh yea. I think I am.

AHEM.

Chinese Language: 上课专心听讲,勇于发问,有领导能力,不但积极参与小组讨论,也积极带领小组同学参与讨论,对待作业非常认真,课业成绩很不错,继续努力,以考取更优秀的成绩。

Aiyo. Cannot be helped la. Smart people is like this =D

Hmm I finally decided that I needed a thumbdrive to store my files.
So I went to buy one when I passed by Best Denki ytd.
The salesman was supposed to intro sth to me.
But it went like this

Salesman: What size do you want?
Me: Er... 512mb.
Salesman: What brand do you want?
Me: What's the difference?
Salesman: No difference. Except that the Sony one looks nicer.
Me: ...
So I settled on the Sony one. Here's a pic of my new thumbdrive =D

Had an event to cover today.
MDS.
Stands for Mayor's Debate something.
I can't remember wad S is.
"Series" perhaps?
Played around with the camera during the long break.
Here's the photos I shot.

Minor Zoom Burst effect.

This is a skill called panning. Basically it creates a motion blur while the subject is in focus.

This car passed by thrice during the 10 minutes I spent practising panning today.
Apparently it was a training car for someone trying to earn his license.

This is an attempt to pan and zoom burst at the same time.
Lol.

Some random pic. I took a nicer one ytd but didn't save it. I am gonna try and get a better one next time.

And here's a zoom burst of Jia Ying. Haha.
She was covering this event with me.

The SAF planes just flew past again.
The 1st time they did, I thought it sounded like a plane so close to the ground that it was going to crash.
It was deafening.
The 2nd time they did it just now, I realised that they were probably rehearsing for NDP.
Which is in 2.5 weeks time.
Did anyone tell them that they are extremely noisy?

I got my result slip back yesterday.
Just to compile my results,
I got UUSEAA.
Not very impressive I think.
3 H2 fails.
3 H1 passes.
My percentile for my 3 H2s are at 30+%
I am clearly scoring far below the school's average.
I better work hard.

I have been undergoing sleep deprivation for some time already.
And its taking a toll on me.
But I shall perservere.

After all, the main purpose of making a blog is to express your thoughts.
So I figured there's not much point in writing so much about my daily events.
I will cut down on that.

I did a friendship test recently. This is the results I got:

Camaraderie is your specialty, and you tend to keep your pals at the very top of your priority list. When a friend is in need, whether for emotional support, a financial boost, or a simple helping hand, they can count on you to come through. You give the very best of yourself, and will actually put your own desires (and sometimes needs) on hold for the sake of a pal's happiness. Your friends surely appreciate your self-sacrificing nature and probably sing your praises. While it's wonderful to show such intense dedication, however, there could be some negative consequences to your high level of commitment; do you ever feel, for example, that you are giving much more than others give in return, or that you are being taken advantage of? While most people see the value of such a fab friend, there are also folks who will milk your generosity for all its worth - not always out of maliciousness, but sometimes because it's just too easy. There is also the danger of developing bitter feelings when you give up your own wants for those of others - a true friend, in fact, will not expect you to drop everything for them in every situation, and will surely respect your decision to put yourself first from time to time.

*Camaraderie is the quality of affording easy familiarity and sociability

Yes, how true. It is just like me to place my friends before myself. Something I have always been doing so unconsciously that I have never thought much about it.
"You give the very best of yourself, and will actually put your own desires (and sometimes needs) on hold for the sake of a pal's happiness."
Yes, now that I look back, I have actually done it. Once? Twice? No, actually I don't know. I have already lost count because I never did count in the 1st place.

The 2nd part of this friendship test warns me that I might be made use of just because its too easy to get help from me.
And I wonder. I give and give and give, but when I try to take, is it easy?
Am I able to give and take at the same time? Or do I give but cannot take?
I don't know. I have never thought of this before.

Reading Jewel's blog, I realise how right she is.
There are many people in the class who appear to be cheerful on the surface, but yet they aren't deep down. But can you tell who is truly cheerful and who isn't?
I admit I am not cheerful deep down.
Perhaps I am not the only one.
I never did feel any warmth in CHS.
I still don't feel any warmth in AJ.
Maybe I am already used to it.
It doesn't matter if I continue freezing for another 2 years anyway.
I am used to the cold.
Many a times in school, I realise that I got noone to talk to.

I really wish to have someone whom I can go to when I am down.
Who will listen to me talk.
Who will support me.
Who doesn't want such a person?
All this however, depends if such a person exists or not.
Perhaps.
Perhaps not.

The only time I have felt warmth was in primary school. I was happiest then.
But its different now.
Time flies, and it will never turn back.
And yet life must go on, no matter how cold and how tormenting it is.
And such is the way life is.

Here's the friendship test which I took:

Your friend is telling you about his/her latest relationship failure. Do you:
1 Listen carefully and make sure that you have advice ready
2 Listen to your friend but feel bored
3 Tell your friend that you are tired of hearing about the same old things

You just got an A+ in your last essay. Your best friend got a C-. What do you do?
1 Tell your friend about your grade, but emphasize the time you got an F in physics and your friend got an A
2 Talk about your A, and tease your friend a little
3 Laugh at your friend and comment on her blonde hair

You are going to a party together with your best friend. Your friend is a bit late and you end up missing the last train. What do you do?
1 Demand that your friend pays for the cab
2 Get a bit agitated but share the cab fare
3 Go home and hang out instead

Your friend tells you a secret, can you keep it?
1 Sure, I never spill my guts
2 I must tell. I just can't help myself
3 I try to, but sometimes I slip

You have promised to help your friend move Friday evening. Just when you are about to leave, the telephone rings. One of your other friends calls to invite you to a party that same evening. What do you do?
1 I go to the party. Only geeks stay home on Friday night
2 Of course I don't go to the party.
3 I call my friend, and ask him to go with me to the party. We can move his stuff on Saturday

You go to Burger King with some of your friends. You notice that one of your friends have some lettuce stuck in his teeth. Your other friends start giggling. What do you do?
1 I giggle a little, but tell my friend to remove the lettuce after a while
2 I join the fun. There is nothing better than making fun of other people
3 I tell my friends to stop giggling and start acting like real friends

You drop by your friend's house. As you arrive, your friend's mom is about to leave. She drops $20 dollars in the driveway. What do you do?
1 I wait till she's gone and then take a look around. When no one's looking, I pick up the $20 bill
2 I pick up the money, after she has left. Think about it for a minute, feel bad, and give the $20 bill to my friend
3 I quickly pick up the $20 bill and run after her to give her the money back

You have teamed up with one of your friends. You are presenting the findings from your semester project to the class. You spent many evenings preparing for this presentation, but your friend continues to make mistakes. What do you do?
1 You put on your best overbearing smile. After all it is just a grade, right? Friendship is more important than Yale.
2 You roll your eyes while thinking "klutz" before taking over in your usual arrogant fashion.
3 You smile to your friend rendering all the mental support you can. Afterwards you talk to her about her performance in private.

Tell me your choices in order on Msn or email it to laixinchu@gmail.com
I will send you your test results.

Feeling very tired now.
Everything's taking a toll on me.
Reached home yesterday and slept for 13 hrs.
I usually sleep for only about half that time.
Hmmm. Maybe I really needed that rest.
Perhaps I am less physically tired now. But I am still emotionally tired.

I need someone to talk to. And that TX went and locked up his com.
Who can I ever talk to now?
Yea. Maybe I will talk to the mirror. At least there's someone to talk to.

I got back my Econs and Geo paper.
Failed Econs. Aced Geo.
Dunno whether I should be happy or sad.
Thanks to Lydia for asking me for the PDF notes on Geo.
Thus I downloaded it and I studied for Geo.
Thanks to Zi Tong who lent me his notes on mass movements 1 hr before the test.

That's about all then.
There might not be as many entries on this blog anymore.
I feel too tired to continue blogging consistently.
But I won't close it.
Goodbye then.

"Its like being transported 2 months back. Except that this time, I am all alone."

I remember my dream last night.
I dreamt that I downed a huge bottle of beer.
Then I fell and slept through the night.
It felt good.

Kk I am in kind of a hurry here so I am be quick abt dis.

All our predictions failed.
Mrs Yim didn't give us a 1 hr scolding after all.
But she wanted her homework done.
That's about all.
Only 10 minutes spent on it.
Got my GP paper back.
Passed by 0.5 marks.
If what I hear is correct, and that it only needs 4 points to pass promos,
I got 3 points already.
Just 1 more point to go!
Either Econs or Geo.
Ok if you dunno wad i m talking abt, here's a quick explanation.
According to someone from somewhere and somehow,
I heard that we need 4 points to pass promos.
1 H2 pass = 2 points
1 H2 sub-pass = 1 point
1 H1 pass = 1 point
1 H1 sub-pass = 0 points
Ungraded = 0 points

This is what I heard. Sources might be unreliable.

Chinese was darn short.
The 2 hour lesson became a 45 min lesson.
As usual she had to go off early for Oral.
Its been like this for 2 weeks =P

Oh ya Mr Arthur Lim was "having fun" with us at PE today.
The new teacher dismissed us at about 8:40 saying it was nearing the end of the period anyway.
After the 45 push-ups he made us do.
Cos he said he wanted to teach us some simple army exercise.
Hmmm. Push-ups. K.
Then apparently we all gathered outside the PE office to get rdy to collect our valuables.
And Mr Arthur Lim asked wad we were doing dere.
We said we were collecting our valuables.
And he said "Huh? Really? Ok. All push-up positions down."
...?
Den he asked us when did we ever had PE dat ended at 8:45.
And I tot it always ended at 8:45.
Someone shouted "today!"
And we ended up in that position for some time.

He sure did take his time going into the PE office and coming back out.
Den he said "All those from my class gather here. The rest remain in position."
Hey! No fair. We ain't from his class.
And after everyone from his class had gathered and were sitting down,
he turned to the rest of us looking like he was puzzled and said
"Don't you all want to go off early?"
...............
Must be very boring to be a teacher. Self-entertainment.

Went to AMK to eat lunch at S11 after sch with Marcus, Joan and Zi Tong.
The 21 peeps passed us as we finished our meal.
Said they were gg to watch POTC II: Dead Man's Chest

Oo so tempting.
After a 2 min debate, me, marcus and joan went to watch with em.
Zi Tong was watching with his family tmr, so he left.
Heard he went to the lib after all to gather materials for PW.
=/ Paiseh.

No movie spoilers here.
Its a fantastic movie.
Very humorous and entertaining.
=))
Enjoy watching!

The time has finally come.
The takeover is over.
The ceremony, fast as a flash.
And soon we find ourselves at the helm.
Its so sudden, yet such a new experience.
There's so many things to learn yet.
And we shall progress.
All as one.
Jia you ba PS exco!
Its our year =)
And it has just begun.

School today was the usual.
The teacher complimented some of us today during Chinese.
Haha of cos got my share also =P

Went for phototaking of the excos in AJ after lunch.
I found out that there were excos of so many different sizes in AJ today.
Ranging from 4 to around 20+, some excos are really excessively big.
Like Choir and Harmonica.
I couldn't decide which one had a bigger exco.
I successfully got myself sunburnt today. In school.
Impressive? Yep. my skin is all reddish now.
All this only goes to prove that I should bring suntan lotion to school or something.
Who was talking about wet weather plans earlier?
Hey hey we need some hot weather plans here!!! >_<

With the last exco finally done for the day, I got out of the blazing sun.
Went for the farewell cum takeover ceremony by PS.
Its all so sudden.
I got a nice little gift from Zi Jie.
Now that's really gonna come in handy.
Thanks a lot! ^^

There was still an event to cover after that.
Apparently MLDDS was having their full dress rehearsal.
And they started a whole 2 hr+ late.
So we had photographers ready and waiting for 2 hr+ also.
That's not very helpful though.
The MLDDS rehearsal lasted kinda long.
However, Lydia and I somehow couldnt spot Nashita there at first.
And we knew that she must have been in the show since she was the president after all.
So I started scouring the stage.
And I spotted someone.
And I thought out loud.
Isnt that Nashita?
It was lo.
Hahahaha she looked soooo different.
Its so hard to spot!!!

As MLDDS was obviously done in Malay, I couldnt catch the story.
But I think I got some idea of the storyline.
And they got some interesting scenes.
Rather creative.

We left just before the end as it was getting late.
8pm. Hahs.

I checked my inbox and realised that I missed the Paradigma meeting today.
Forget it.
If they were going to hold their 1st official meeting 3 months after the sign-up
there's bound to be many people that wun know.
And 3 months is like so late lors.

Dislcaimer: The official blog entry ends here.

So wads with the disclaimer? Nah nothing much. I just wanna say some stuff here.
Might get a little philosophical. But I will say it anyway.

There's bound to be obstacles in life.
Stumbling stones.
They take the form of anything.
And it might affect you in different ways.
Perhaps you might only lose your balance slightly.
Perhaps you might fall badly.
Its all part and parcel of life.
There's one solution I can offer though.
Remain optimistic. Even in your toughest times.

I admit its hard to do so. Yet it is so much one can do alone.
Perhaps you can't do it. Find someone, a friend, a family member, a relative.
Anyone you can think of, whom you can trust, whom you feel that can help you tide through this tough phase emotionally.

For me, I remain optimistic all the time.
You can say I am happy-go-lucky.
But I have my tough times too.
Generally I laugh my way through everything.
I never did really worry.
Perhaps that's what's so good about my life.
I can live through it without as much stress.

I will never think more than 5 days into my future.
Why worry so much about the future?
When you will be missing out on everything in the present?
The future is unpredictable.
So stay happy in the present.
And rejoice.

Remember. Emotional stress is terrible.
Don't fall a victim to depression.
Of the 325237562234237491238 people in this world, there's bound to be 1 person who can help you.
The keyword is "optimism" and the key is "friends".

"The present is a gift to us, that is why it is called the PRESENT."

Alright. Here are the long awaited results for the simple test on my last entry.
If you don't know what I am talking about, I don't want to spoil it yet.
Press Ctrl+A only after you have seen the questions on the last entry.

Test 1:

If you chose the shorter route to your girlfriend/boyfriend's house, you are quick to enter a relationship.

If you chose the longer route to your girlfriend/boyfriend's house, you take a long time to enter a relationship.

If you preferred your girlfriend/boyfriend to be sleeping when you enter his/her house, you are one who looks at a person's character when deciding whether to be with him/her.

If you preferred your girlfriend/boyfriend to be doing something else when you enter his/her house, you are a superficial person.

If you took the longer route back home, you take a long time to recover from a broken relationship.

If you took the shorter route back home, you are quick to recover from a broken relationship.

Test 2:

The bigger the box which you thought of, the more magnanimous you are =)

My mind's unweaving/ 5:46 PM

Omg la. I should never have ran those 6 rounds during PE yesterday.
Woke up this morning to a terrible pain in my ankle.
I think my ankle has just taken some serious damage.
With any luck, I might still be able to walk to school tommorow.

Don't feel like getting my ankle bandaged up again though.
So troublesome.
And itchy.

I spent last night doing Maths corrections till 12am.
Sigh.
I decided to redo the whole paper since there was so much to do anyway.
Then I went on a hunt for anything related to Physics to get ready my Physics file.
I realised my notes are in such a mess.
Found some Geog notes which I lost some time ago.
Darn. I guess its a bit late to find it now.

Oh ya.
The next SPA practical's coming.
The teacher said that the syllabus tested will be waves and oscillations.
Its next week. I hope to score better for this SPA than the first one.

I nearly messed up the physics practical today lo.
Heng Mr Lim spotted my mistake and corrected it when I was doing my first reading.
But he picked on me three times for that.
Mentioned my name twice.
Hmmph. =(

And I notice he's been writing weird stuff while marking our practicals.
I saw "Good, but see me."
So is that considered good or bad? =/

Econs lecture was quite enriching.
She was about to go through the test paper but she gave up in the end.
Dunno why.
Anyway in the end she began going through everything Mr Choi had been teaching.
Woot. Now that's 1 lecturer that CAN teach.
I think I learnt more in that 1 short lecture session than the 5 to 6 lecture sessions by Mr Choi added up altogether.
In fact, he was degrading my brain.
That was one essential Econs lecture to reverse all that brain damage.

Went to Yoshinoya at J8 for lunch after that.
With Marcus, Joan, Leon, Zi Tong and Ken.
Joan began asking some simple psychological tests after that.
Here's one for everyone to try out:

1. If you are going to your girlfriend/boyfriend's house, would you take the shorter route or the longer route?
2. When you enter your girlfriend/boyfriend's house, would you rather that he/she be sleeping or doing something else?
3. When you leave your girlfriend/boyfriend's house to go home, would you take the shorter route or the longer route?

Test results to be posted in the next entry =)

Here's another one:

Imagine a box.
What is the size of the box you are thinking of now?
Remember, your first thought counts!

Test results also to be posted in the next entry =)

They went for a movie after that.
Dunno which movie. But it was 1.5 hours away.
I decided to go home first to work through my workpile.
Ok let me get started then..

If you don't feel like waiting for the next entry, Msn me to get the answers to the psychological tests. I am usually online. You could tell me what you chose if you want ;)
Actually I would be interested to know. Lol.

There's so much things to say today.
And I don't know where to begin!!

Ok let's do this in order.

We watched a video during the GP lecture today.
Omg.
It totally killed my appetite for breakfast.
I know some people think there's nothing wrong with it.
And its absolutely normal.
But I found it quite sick and gross.
And I can't believe people can go to such an extent, doing damage to their own body just to look different.
And its so omg lor.
I will never be doing something like that.

I got back my Physics paper today.
Horrendous. I don't feel like talking about it.
I cant say how much regret I feel now for not being serious about the midyears.
I really regret it.
USA. That's my grades so far.
Most people will know what that means haha.

My 'A' Level Chinese Oral took place today.
It was okay lah.
I didn't have too many problems handling it.
But one of the teacher didn't say a single thing throughout the whole oral exam.
Aiyo. And i thought i talked kinda fast.
Nvm. Its all over.
Cheer up everyone. It wun be dat bad.

We went to Geog after Oral (very unwilling in my case)
Ms Zhu was gone!
There was a new teacher taking over.
I forgot her name.
But anyway she wanted us to intro ourselves and say out our most embarassing moment.
I was so tempted to return her with a lame reply since I couldn't think of anything but decided against it.
In case she start getting biased against me. Haha.
Anyway I was contemplating on replying "My most embarassing moment was when the teacher asked me to say my most embarassing moment. Then I couldn't think of anything. And the whole class laughed."
That will probably get the class laughing.
But it would sound like a retort against the teacher. Hah. Better dun say it.

PE after Geo was very simple.
2 rounds warm-up.
4 rounds jogging.
6 pull-ups.
End of session. Dismissed.
Wonder why there were rumours flying about 30+ pullups and stuff.
Hmmm. Must have been a rumour after all.
Or was it?

Settled down for a chat session after that.
Dunno whether I should disclose who I was chatting with.
So I might as well don't.
It was kinda a long session.
We left when the sky was dark.
It was about 8pm+ when I reached home.
But nevertheless, it was a fantastic chat.

Aiyo then something weird happened on the train.
So scary lah. But I kinda sympathise for the woman.
Apparently we met this woman who had been abandoned by her husband.
Den her husband didn't give her any money.
And she appeared to be homeless and couldn't find him.
So she borrowed my phone to sms her husband.
And when she got off at Bishan with me (Oh my)
she was talking to herself.
I think she's mentally traumatised.
Really sad for her.
Such things really happen in reality you know.
Haix~~ the unpredictable complexity of life.

So many things happened today.
And I have already kept it short =)
Hah.

STUDY GROUP ANYONE?

"In the end, she might end up in a mental hopsital. And its not her fault that she took such a blow in the first place. How cruel reality can be..."

Happy Birthday Timothy!

Look! I wished you a huge happy birthday!
Yup with all that advertising on your birthday on your blog, its inevitable that noone knows when's your birthday.
And I got it memorised before that k?

Good luck to your exams. I think everyone needs a lot of it.

Oh ya I feel very sad that I cant celebrate your birthday with you.
Cos I will be having Chinese Oral later.
And kinda having a very busy life.
But dun worry!
I will be there spiritually.
Can sense me?
=)

Enjoy your birthday! Wish ya all the best!

The PS exco met today. Again. Yep again.
We went shopping at Ikea.
This place is familiar. I must have been here before. Long long ago.
Only 5 of us turned up today however, but it was gd enuff.

Met up with Han Bin at Bishan Mrt.
We were supposedly meeting there.
Then I was outside the Mrt.
Han Bin called me to say she was inside the station already.
I said I was outside the station.
So I went in.
Just nice the Mrt came.
So I got on thinking she wuld hv boarded too.

Turns out she didn't.
Opps. So we met at Braddell Mrt instead.
Was already 12:55pm when we reached Queenstown Mrt.
The bus took ages to come.
145 came twice already.

We didn't know Ikea was 1 stop away.
So when the bus stopped 1 stop later, it was outside this shop called "Car Motors"
Half the bus got off.
That got me wondering.
Why would everyone be getting off at a car shop?
I began suspecting that Ikea was at that stop.
Then the bus moved and a blue and yellow building with the huge word "IKEA" passed by us too.

Drats.
We walked back.

Met up with Lydia, Charissa and Ming Jun at the Ikea cafe.
We were the latest.
Slowed by unforseen circumstances.

No idea how long we spent in Ikea.
Left at 4:15pm

I reached Bishan at 5:07pm.
The sun hasn't set yet.
That shows that its early today.
Hah.

Hey Tx.
Your evil wish didn't come true.
Noone made me carry 23847259 shopping bags today.
Hahahahahaha.

I know most of you didn't visit IVLE on Thursday when they released the tutorial 9 Differentiation answers for a short period of time only.

Thanks to Shirley who sent me the file, I got it uploaded so the rest of you can still download it.

AJC held the 2nd day of the interhouse games today.
So I reached sch at 8:40am.
Cos I would be doing event coverage for the interhouse games.
I nvr knew every student had to register themselves at the guard house if they came back on Sat.
Its not the first time I am back on Sat.. and its the 1st time I m stopping at the guard house.
Hah.

Most of the pple were late. But not very late.
Pei Yeung was complaining about how late everyone was.
By the time Jian Qi arrived with the dark room key, he was umm 4 minutes late.
She was still complaining =/

Turns out today was a practice for all exco members on event coverage.
For most of us, its our 1st go at event coverage.
Its not my 1st time though.
I counted. This is probably the 5th or more.

I was the only idiot to turn up for an outdoor photo coverage in a black shirt.
The sun was shining down brightly today.
Being very nice, I was absorbing all the heat away from everyone else so that they will feel cooler.
Nvm. It wasn't that hot anyway. I think.

Hmm however, this is my 1st go at sports coverage.
Still find it kinda fun.
The whole school had something going on here and there.
And it was kinda confusing as to what was going on.

Went around snapping photos here and there.
Not very gd shots.
The distance was too wide to get a good one.
Managed to get my hands on the telephoto lens in the end.
Wow that lens rocks!
Jian Qi said my shots at the end were not bad.
Dats cos the telephoto lens is distinctly 32498342 times better than the normal lens.

Went back to the dark room after the whole thing.
The current exco. The new exco.
We were chatting.
Loads of jokes and laughter. Hahahaha.
Talked about really old TV serials.
Talked about some other stuff.
Looked at our photos.
Felt some satisfaction.
I am really enjoying myself in this CCA.

I decided not to go to my doctor for a follow-up after all.
The clinic wun be open till 2:30pm.
2.5 hr lunch break...
So troublesome to wait.
Anyway I will probably finish recovering soon.

Hey Lydia.
Send me those photos I took after you are done filtering it ^^
the last 10 photos or so in your folder were all taken by me too.
Especially those =d
They are the ones i took with the telephoto lens.
I want to start keeping track of my photos soon.
Thanks! =D

Oo. Got called up at 6pm to go to pool.
I have nvr gone out for pool so late b4.
Met up with Joan and Marcus at Toa Payoh at 7:40pm.

Joan was wearing contact lenses for the 1st time o.O
And dats like the 1st thing I noticed when I saw em.

The place was full so we went to eat 1st.
OMG the food at "Banquet" tastes terrible.
And the place is called "Banquet"?
Its like a very expensive way to torture your taste buds.
Perfected with bland soups and rubbery noodles.

I timed for pool to end at 10:15pm.
Reason: I need to be home before 11pm.
Evaluation: My mom reaches home at 11pm. And she's not supposed to know that I am not at home and at pool instead at a time like 10+pm.
Conclusion: I needed enough time to reach home at a latest time of 10:55pm before she did.
Result: Its 11:09 pm now and she isn't home yet. I reached home at 10:40pm.

Lol.

I saw something today that weren't meant for my eyes.
But hey, it was purely a coincidence that I was there.
They couldn't have possibly expected me to be there anyway.
A sudden decision caused me to be there by an exact coincidence.
But anyway...
I am happy for them =)

"My leg itches so badly. I can't wait till I get those bandages off tommorow morning!!!!"

My mind's unweaving/ 11:01 PM

I went to sch today.
Yup. It took a lot of effort for me to get rdy for sch.
But I managed it anyway.

I started trying to flag a cab at 6:45
It took ages before I finally got one at 7am.
The driver's kinda nice.
Cos I was on the other side of the road when he saw me trying to flag a cab.
So he went and made this U-turn
But in between there was another person trying to flag a cab too.
At first I thought he will stop for the other person.
But he bypassed dat person anyway and came up to me =)

For some reason, most taxi drivers do not know where AJC is.
This theory has been proven 2 out of 2 times.
Wonder why.

I reached sch at abt 7:10.
Saw Lydia about 2 cars in front of me.
Guo Wei later told me that he was behind me too.
Hah.

Nothing interesting happened in school today.
My main purpose of coming to sch today was to get the answers for the Maths test.
Good thing I did cos he wanted us to do corrections.
Those who failed =(
And he mentioned there were 4 methods to do series.
I knew none.
I didn't even know what he was talking about.
Time to do something about it.

Oh ya I just remembered today's main topic.
Aiya must rant sia.
I rarely rant.
But today I feel so sad.
Poor me turned up with a sprained ankle.
And cos I was only half-recovered, it was still hurting me with every step.
Then ar, I was walking sooooo slowly.
Cannot catch up with anyone.
So everyone conveniently abandoned me and walked ahead.
At first I tot it was ok.
Cos there's still another person I tot I could rely on. But end up he proved otherwise
Nvm. I protect his privacy here.
Tsk. That C**k Z***g K*i ar... haix~~~

So today I ended up trudging here and there, up and down.
Alone. And doing more and more damage to my poor leg.
So sad =(

But nvm lo. I alrdy said he abandoned me ages ago le.
Must learn to be independent.
Haix~~
重色轻友.
Tsk.

Went to eat at J8 with Marcus and Joan after sch.
Hey Ken.. hw come u nvr came along today?
I was wondering where u were =/

Big surprise. There's a place that exists that they have nvr gone b4 while I went b4.
Cos they named a few places.
Sakae. Nope, I nvr gone b4.
Sakura. Huh? What's that?
Seoul. Nvr gone before either.
But all these places were either too far or their buffet started too late.

And so we went to....
Ajisen Ramen!
Their noodles were off-form today.

And Marcus is so evil.
I nearly got convinced by him to eat this weird greenish stuff.
Cos I was wondering what it was..
and was asking him whether it was wasabi.
He kept telling me to try some of it.
So i was nearly going to put it into my mouth when Joan saved me.
And I was told it WAS wasabi.
Evil Marcus =(

We went up to "Best Denki" after that.
I was thinking of buying a camera.
So I went to look at the "Canon Powershot" series.
Very nice cameras.
Wait till I can afford em.
The salesman was trying to recommend the Canon D350 to me.
Wah.
He said it was on a discount at the moment.
$1599 only.
It used to be $1800+.
Ok lor.
If they got 30 years installment den I consider.
Besides PS got 2 of those. No wonder it looked soooo familiar.

Saw a semi-pro camera there.
Its almost a mini version of the D350.
Except that it doesn't have external flash.
Can fit on tripod too.
Hmmm. $800+
12X optical zoom. Very very nice camera.

Currently pondering over 2 cameras.
Not those 2 above of cos.
I think about it 1st.
Hmmm.

Hey pple. Good news!
I can walk again. Very slowly.

Nw there's this debate going on between me and my mom.
My mom insists that I should stay at home and rest tmr
While I insist that I should go to school.

Huh? What's with that surprised look?
Wads wrong with me wanting to go to school? =D
Anyway the conclusion was that if I can walk to school tmr
Den I will go to school.

But I doubt by tmr I will really be able to walk at my usual pace again.
So if I dont turn up and you all get some exam results back..
could someone send me my results?
Thanks a lot! =D

My mind's unweaving/ 9:18 PM

Hi pple!
Gd morning!
I got nth much to do so I am here to blog.
I survived the night depsite my sprain.
Thats the good news.
The bad news is that its now so bad that its throbbing in pain even though I ain't moving.
And I still cant stand. Yea.

So now I am hopping around on one foot like a Chinese vampire.
At this rate I doubt I will be in school on Friday.
Its not my idea of fun to spend a whole day hopping around the school.
And I don't feel like going to the extent of bringing crutches or something.
Though I look like I am gonna need it now.

Aye. I am no better than a cripple now.
Sigh. What can I do if I can't move?
Nvm. I am going to hop over to the doctor later.
I can't expect my mom to carry me there or sth right?
Argh. Why didn't I go to the doctor last night?

On a brighter note, I found out that I got endorsed under the 4th position in the AJC Cross Country for J1s.
Apparently, after they removed everyone who left AJ, I went up from around the 20+ position to the 4th.
LOL.

-----------Update-----------

I am back from the doc.
Hopped over to Ang Mo Kio and back.
Ok i took a taxi there with my mom.
But the hopping in between is killing my left leg now.

The taxi driver was happily telling me about how the Chinese physician will twist my ankle back into place or something.
Told me that it will hurt a lot.
That's so contributive.
Thanks ar.

The doctor examined my ankle.
Then he said it was just a strain.
Nothing dislocated.
Whew. For a moment I thought he was going to test how much pain I could take.
Oh ya. My ankle is now so swollen there's a distinct bulge on the side of my leg.
Hahahaha.
The doc wrapped my leg up. That's abt it.
No serious dmg done to my leg.
Now I will have to stone at home for a few days.
Hopefully I will recover the ability to walk by tommorow.
I want to go to school instead ^^
I am like very hardworking you know?

Today's such a long day.
Left school at 8pm.
Spent about 5.5 hrs in PS.
Actually its quite nice to stay in sch so late lo.
And just talking and talking(and listening to someone talk for 1.5 hrs straight on one topic)
No not that the 1.5h was nice.
Many pple just switched off totally.
From Myanmar. LOL. Nvm it was quite sour. Was that an attempt to keep us awake?

Anyway the PS exco met today for the 1st time.
This exco's kinda nice.
And we are having a small outing this Sunday.
Darn. I can't even stand properly now.
I really hope I can turn up on Sun.
I will try my best ba.

I got my 1st assignment as a treasurer alrdy.
I will be seeing Miss Lee very often at this rate.
Heard that I apparently got a very busy job.

Oh yea I got another paper back today.
Chinese =)
That will be my one and only A for this mid years.
I am still a bit hopeful over Physics.
Apparently you only need 1 H2 and 2 H1 passes to pass promos.
And i thought it was 2 H2s and 1 H1.
1 H2. Shouldn't be that hard I hope?

My mind's unweaving/ 11:59 PM

OUCH. Poor me sprained my ankle today.
Remember 3 months ago when Jiamin sprained her ankle while coming down the steps of Block 4?
Yes. I sprained my ankle on the exact same steps.
I think i was walking down the steps when I reached the last 3 steps.
Den my left foot went down 1 step
While my right foot went down 2 steps in 1 go.
Totally deja vu here.
But with different people.

There's something seriously wrong with those steps.
Words of caution: avoid them if possible

Alright. So I couldn't do a thing. But limp home.
Yea. I travelled with a sprained ankle all the way from sch to home.
I think I just did about 235837495643 times more damage to my ankle in the process.
It hurts terribly now.
Hopefully I will recover before Friday.
Tommorow is a school holiday for AJC so i won't be going to sch.
One day to rest then.

Sigh. This is so darn suay.

The Maths paper's back.
Yea I kinda expected the low grades.
But still, it came as a nasty shock.

5 people passed.
Highest was 56%.
Lowest was 6%.
Not very good results don't you think?

I got 32%.
Based on my calculations all I need is a 48% for Final years exams and I will pass Maths overall.
But is that all I can aim for?

Maths was once the subject I was most proud of.
I swear I will never let my Maths results chart drop even further again.
That's the last straw.

I saw a tonne of careless mistakes in my paper today.
How can i possibly miss out a negative sign?
How can i possibly write 3/2 as 2/3!?
These mistakes are enough to cost me unnecessary losses of marks.

Econs isn't very optimistic either.
Physics won't turn out as good either.

And I want to pass my promos.
Ok then.
I am gonna start studying.
I won't shut off totally from everyone else like what Tian Xiang plans to do though.
I am just gonna redouble my effort on my work.

Exco takeover is in 2 weeks.
There's still PW.
I will be very busy.
Come to think of it, promos is in 3 months.
Lets all work for it then.
We have 3 months to spend.
And we have very very very little time.

Whoa. Did anyone else experience it last night?
I saw one of the worst storms ever for some time.

I was still up till around 4:30am.
Den suddenly the wind picked up. Distinctly.
It was like a sudden gale.
The windows shook from the impact; loose items fell to the floor.
And there was a loud crash from outside the window.
Something must have just fallen all the way down from a great height.
Followed by it were different clatterings as smaller items lost their grip.
The wind was strong. Very strong.

I looked out the window. There was a storm brewing from a certain direction.
No compass, dunno wad direction dat is lol.
I think I would have been blown off my feet if not for the fact that I was in the safety of my house.
Then suddenly, one raindrop flew into my face.
Seriously, that raindrop hurt.
It was like someone throwing a small particle at you at a very high speed.
Its just a raindrop, but the impact was very clear.
Er.. ok so anyone want to estimate that wind speed?

More raindrops started smacking my face so I closed the window.
I estimate the wind was blowing for around 10 minutes before the storm hit.
Considering that, the actual storm must have been miles away.
At this wind speed, any storm can bypass Singapore in seconds.

Then the storm came.
One word to decribe it. Raging.
Everything outside was blurred out by the rain.
I have never seen such a terrible storm in ages.

Lightning flashes lit up my whole room.
It was as if the gods were unleashing all their fury down.
Eh a bit over-exaggerated but you get the idea.

Bless anyone who was out on the streets at around 4:45am
They were caught inside a huge storm.

Hey Pui Kit. You are the expert around.
Was that the monsoon or wad?

I got this from a chain mail and I am really impressed with this fact.
The wonders of how the human brain works.
Don't you agree?

Oh and thanks to Tian Xiang, I got the photos uploaded.

Joseph House!

They sure look weird on this picture. Don't ask me what those coloured balls are on the floor. There are about 15 of it of many different sizes and colors all on the floor.

Noel House! I am from Noel!

What do you think that is? Its like some sort of logo. Can't really tell what it actually is though.

Titled "Daddy's Hands."

Another pic on these "running statues". Oo I see the statue of our founder in the background. That was one of the only few statues in CHS before LHB came in.

Today was CHS's homecoming day.
Terr woke me up at 10:20.
Someone made a decision to meet earlier at 10:30.
Right. I am so gonna teleport out of bed and reach sch at 10:30.

We decided to meet at 10:45 instead.
I reached CHS at 11 anyway.

I saw something surprising today.
Mr Lee actually did it.
What he said last year.
He really convinced whoever's in charge to build a walkway from the bus stop to the school gate.
Wow. That's quite some distance you know.
I am kinda surprised.

My 1st impression when I walked into school was... is that everyone?
Cos there were very few people in sight considering this was an annual fair.
Turns out the main area of activity was at the plaza area.
Omg. I saw Mrs Low there. You know the AJ Econs teacher?
Yea she went.

Looked around the school. Its so different now.. haix. Sure miss this place.
The poster which Mr Lee put up as inspiration for the Sec 4s were still there.
It showed the average L1R5 of the school over the past few years.
2002: 12.8
2003: 11.6
2004: 10.8
2005: 10.2
Where's "2006: 14.8" ?
Lol.

It was mostly CHS students/ex-students wandering around the place.
Well it was homecoming anyway.
For us old boys to come home.

I visited the statue garden based on the reliable info I received.
It was at the location which I was tipped off about.
It perfectly proved how much money LHB had to spend.
And he sure couldn't think of a better way to spend it eg. Provide money for printing fees.
Instead all the money converted to these stone statues of CHS students varying of different heights looking like they were in a race.
Its a biased statue garden.
There were 5 statues with "Edward" on their shirt.
One said "Catholic High School"
Two said "Philippe"
Only one said "Joseph"
And only one said "Noel"
10 statues in total.
They are so biased towards Edward house.
I got Tx to help me take some pictures of different statues around CHS.
I will put it up next time. When he's done sending it to me.

They got this new huge statue at the plaza.
And a couple more on the other side of the plaza.
Mr Lee sure loves statues.

I met Terr, Tx and Tim there. Douglas came a while later.
The lan shop they set up in school was boring and expensive.
So we decided that we will go to a proper and cheaper one at Dhoby Ghaut.
Before that, we met Mr Heng who kindly told us that he was to be dunked at 1pm.
And they were still raising funds.
So we pledged the rest of our coupons to the "Dunk Mr Heng fund"
Mr Heng told us to go stand in a row, grab a ball each, and throw it at the target for the dunking machine and shout: That's for the test! That's for that long essay you gave us! That's for the scolding!"
We left early. Never saw him get dunked.

O ya I heard Tay Ping Hui came to support us too.
He was apparently playing basketball in the hall.
Sadly, I went there a few minutes too late.
It would have been interesting to watch him playing bball.
He's an old boy too I think.

Somehow today's gathering had become a gathering of the herd.
Too bad Zkai and Chris were at choir.. we could have had a fuller gathering.

Ah Dhoby Ghaut. I sure miss that place.
We spent around 3 hours playing lan.
Tx, Tim and Doug had to go at 5pm.
Aww it was still daylight.
Its still early.
We were waiting for the Mrt when Terr reminded me that we wanted to play pool just now.
Ok. Pool it is then. I don't want to go home this early.
Hah. So we walked all the way back to Paradiz Centre for pool.
Played for about 2 hours.
Someone called me while I was playing pool.

1st, I got someone claiming to be from my class last year.
Calls himself Timothy Ang. Who the heck is that?
Next he passed the phone to Nelson Tan. Wow. Do I know anyone by that name?
Next, Jason Ang apparently from the same class wanted to talk to me too.
The only Jason Ang I know is currently in Guangyang now. Thx ar.
Please. If you have something better to do, don't prank call me.
I heard a lot of laughter in the background. I ain't impressed.

Me and Terr went to eat dinner at Plaza Singapura.
Another long walk back to Dhoby Ghaut mrt.
We were deciding where to eat when we met Geng Liang and Kah Hwee together with their frens.
Walked a few more steps and we met another group of AJ pple.
Seems like PS is a popular spot for AJ pple.

Terr and I pondered over an interesting qn.
Wad do gals associate the term "Dhoby Ghaut" with?
Guys associate that term with "lan".
Lol.

I reached home at around 9:20pm
Yup. The best outing in ages.
Goes out when the sun is bright in the sky, reach home when the sun has set.

Someone was telling me about this relationship thingy going on.
I didn't mention the name for privacy purposes =)
Anyway apparently it goes like this.
A likes B from another class. B likes C who likes D, who is in A's class.

Makes me wonder why relationships cant be like:
A likes B. B likes A. Fullstop. No more.
I guess something like that never do exists.
Nvm then.

"Why must everything be so complicated? Isn't there anything such as a simple relationship?"
