Finally, after 2(or was it 3?) months of hard pia-ing for the Chinese A level retest, we took the test today.
One word to describe the paper: shocking
It was about twice as hard as the end of year paper last year. Kinda made me regret not studying hard enough for the paper last year. So, I didn't really get a choice at a retake that was so difficult, did I?
But come to think of it, since the paper was so difficult, not many people will score well at this paper. That's the only optimistic thing I can think of at the moment.
I felt more confident for this test than when I did the test last Novemember. Last Nov, I felt horrible after the test, knowing that I had lost my 'A' grade. But this time, though I still unsure, but I felt better. Hopefully. I am hoping for the best.

What made the paper hard? All the questions were unexpected. They were off the norm. The chinese terms and phrases tested were horribly difficult.
One particular thing was about the 50 words and the 70 words questions in the first and last 阅读理解. While we had been doing the 50 words one on feelings and the 70 words one on a summary of a passage all along, the exam today required us to do a content-based question for the 50 words one and a perspective-based question on the 70 words one. It was totally unexpected.

But I did write a lot for 阅读理解(3). Lol. I estimated that I wrote about 500+ words for that part not counting the 70 words question. I think I wrote about 700+ words for my composition only in comparison. I hope I managed to hit the bullseye. If not, I am going to be expecting a 'B' grade or even a 'C' grade this time.

严老师 said that I had to get 'A' this time. If not, she would be horribly disappointed. I really hope I don't get the chance to disappoint her. I really hope not. I would also really like to thank her for her efforts in us for the past 3 months. I am extremely grateful to her guidance and efforts all the while and I believe the rest of us feels the same. Thanks 严老师!

Ok. After all, its over. I shan't talk about it anymore though I have already mentioned a lot about it. Haha. After all, 谋事在人, 成事在天. I have tried already. I shall have no regrets. If I don't get an 'A' this time, I might even consider re-taking again. I am determined to get an 'A'.


After the Chinese exam, I met up with Zheng Kai, Chris and Ken later to catch "Pirates of The Caribbean: At World's End" at Yishun. I expected a long show. After all, it was 170 minutes long. That's a long 2 hours and 50 minutes.
Everyone arrived late except Zheng Kai. He even came early. Surprise? =P

We sat down just in time to hear the "off your mobile phones" notice. Lol.
One minute later and we would have missed the starting.
But what a pity. The advertisements were usually interesting. Pity I had to miss that too.
So.. the movie was better compared to Spiderman 3. Though it was longer.
While Spiderman was draggy, something was always happening in POTC.
Be it Jack Sparrow talking to himself or just random pirates, I didn't feel the sense of dragginess which I felt in Spiderman.
A good show. Don't miss it. And remember to get some food. You might just starve in there. Its 170 minutes, mind you.
I am rating it 4.5 out of 5 stars. There's not enough humor in this show. Lol.
Its actually pretty amazing how in all 3 episodes, Jack Sparrow can walk in a ship under fire with the whole ship exploding around him, yet he never get even a scratch.
Oh, and remember how the Black Pearl was horribly mutiliated and sunk by the Kraken in the Dead Man's Chest? In At World's End, the ship was somehow repaired despite all the damage and was at peak condition. Lol. No idea how that happened, but it happened anyway.

Shan't do any more spoilers. Remember to catch the show! But spare yourself 3 hours to do so =)
